DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Dec. 30, 2005) – The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour begins its 2006 season with the traditional “Icebreaker” event, set for April 9 at Thompson (Conn.) International Speedway. According to a schedule preview unveiled today, a 14-race schedule will take the Tour to many of its favorite venues across the Northeast.
A major highlight on the calendar is a return to Martinsville (Va.) Speedway on Labor Day weekend. In 2005, the Whelen Modified Tour became the first division to race at night, under the lights, at the historic .526-mile oval. Additional schedule details may be announced or updated at a later date.
