STAFFORD MOTOR SPEEDWAY RELEASES 2006 EVENT SCHEDULE : Raceway Media

(Stafford Springs, CT)---Stafford Motor Speedway has released its 2006 event
schedule. SMS will open its doors for business on Sunday April 2 with the
20th annual Ty-Rods Automotive Swap Meet, and will conclude the 2006 season
with the Connecticut Fall Motorcycle Swap Meet on Sunday, October 22.
The track will host a total of 24 racing events, with the 35th Annual
Tech-Net Spring Sizzler presented by CARQUEST kicking off the 2006 NASCAR
Racing season from April 28-30. Stafford will conclude its 2006 NASCAR
Racing season with the 34th annual CARQUEST Fall Final Weekend on Friday,
September 29 through Sunday, October 1.
Stafford’s Friday night NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series programs will consist of
SK Modifieds®, Late Models, Limited Late Models, DARE Stocks, and the newly
formed SK Light division. The SK Lights will race a feature distance of 20
green flag laps, with the SK Modifieds® racing 40 green flag laps, Late
Models 30 green flag laps, Limited Late Models 20 green flag laps, and the
DARE Stocks 15 green flag laps.
The 35th Annual Spring Sizzler will once again have the NEMA Midget cars
along with the Whelen Modified Tour, SK Modified®, Late Model, Limited Late
Model, DARE Stock, and new SK Light cars. The SK Modified® Light, Limited
Late Model, and DARE Stock features will be run on Saturday, April 29, with
the Whelen Modified Tour, SK Modifieds®, Late Models, and NEMA Midgets
taking to the track on Sunday, April 30.
CARQUEST Extreme event moves to Tuesday, July 11th from its traditional
Wednesday space, and will host the ISMA Supermodifieds and NEMA Midgets.
Stafford Speedway will also host a second special event during the 2006
season on Tuesday, August 15th with the divisions and distances for that
show to be announced at a later date.
Stafford will host a total of five NASCAR Touring events during the 2006
season. The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will make four visits to Stafford
in 2005: the 35th Annual Spring Sizzler scheduled for April 28-30, the 16th
Annual Connecticut Classic 150 on May 26, the 16th Annual New England Dodge
Dealers 150 on August 11, and the 34th Annual CARQUEST Fall Final Weekend,
scheduled for September 29-October 1. The NASCAR Busch North Series will
make one visit to Stafford on June 16 with the 16th TSI Harley Davidson 150.
The SK Modified® and Late Model divisions will each run a 100-lap extra
distance feature event during the 2006 season. The 12th Annual American
Sleeve Bearing Late Model 100 will be run as Stafford’s traditional Fourth
of July Holiday fireworks spectacular on Friday night, June 30, and the 33rd
annual Coors Light SK Modified® 100 is scheduled for Friday, July 21. SMS
will host a total of three fireworks dates, the 5th Annual Summer Blast Off
/ CARQUEST Dealer Night on June 9, the 11th Annual ASB Late Model 100 on
June 30, and the September 1 NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series event.
The USHRA Monster Trucks will return to Stafford Motor Speedway in 2006 with
two shows on Saturday, July 29, and one show on Sunday, July 30.
Stafford Motor Speedway season ticket packages are now available, and are
good for all NASCAR Race events, as well as the CARQUEST Extreme Wednesday
program, but do not include admission for Monster Truck shows or Swap Meets.
Stafford’s season ticket packages remain the same price as 2005 season
ticket packages, and offer the best savings if purchased before December 15,
2005.
